About the Journal
Atthulab: Islamic Religion Teaching and Learning Journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that promotes scholarly research in the field of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI). Published by the Laboratory of Islamic Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Perkumpulan Sarjana Pendidikan Islam Indonesia (PSPII), the journal serves as a platform for lecturers, researchers, and educators to disseminate research findings and innovative practices in Islamic teaching and learning. Established in 2016, Atthulab is published bi-annually in April and October, with both print (ISSN: 2503-5282) and online (ISSN: 2598-0971) editions.
Atthulab focuses on advancing knowledge and practice in Islamic education across various educational contexts. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including Islamic education in schools, learning processes in madrasah, educational practices in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), and Islamic religious instruction in higher education. In addition, the journal accommodates studies related to Tafsir Tarbawy and Hadith Tarbawy, emphasizing the integration of Islamic foundational texts into educational theory and practice.
As a scholarly platform, Atthulab welcomes original research articles and literature-based studies that explore pedagogical innovation, curriculum development, instructional strategies, teacher professionalism, and student learning outcomes in Islamic education. The journal also encourages interdisciplinary approaches that connect Islamic education with broader educational and social issues. Through its commitment to academic rigor and relevance, Atthulab aims to contribute to the development of quality Islamic education and to support the transformation of teaching and learning practices in diverse educational settings.
